The destruction of a 3000-year-old rock painting

Unknown persons have destroyed a 3000-year-old rock painting of the Thracians on the Pangaion (municipality in the region of Kavala, eastern Makedonia). The destruction of the famous rock painting on the mountain, on which the popular Pangaion monastery is located today, was discovered by accident by the botanist Giannis Zalidas who made the photos you can see in the article below (the first one shows the rock painting after, the second before its destruction). This is an act of barbarism, a crime against civilization that can never be forgiven, just like the demolition of the altar of Dionysos in Athens in 1997. We can be sure that in this case, too, the perpetrators will not be brought to justice.
